Ongoing Research Programs
EU H2020 THING:
ThesubTerranean Haptic INvestiGator Projectis an EU H2020 funded project which brings together lead researchers to focus on haptic navigation for walking robots. The project will focus on developing new terrain sensing, estimation and control technology for the ANYmal quadruped. In addition to ETH Zurich, partners will include Oxford University, Poznan University of Technology, Universities of Edinburgh and Pisa as well as industrial partners such as ANYbotics, KGMH Cuprum (a major Polish mining company) and the City of Zurich. link
NCCR Robotics:
The National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) Robotics is a nation-wide center, launched by the Swiss National Science Foundation, with the common objective of developing new, human-oriented robotic technology for improving our quality of life. link
NCCR dfab - Construction Robotics:
The National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) Digital Fabrication is Switzerland’s initiative to enable robotified, architectural-scale and landscape-scale building processes. It focuses on developing mobile robots which are able to create landscapes and assemble constructions with a precision that is impossible to reach with the available tools and through human operation today. link
KTI - Menzi Muck:
The goal of this CTI project between the Legged Robotics Group and Menzi Muck AG is to transfer the technology for ground reaction force optimization from our legged platforms to walking excavators. link
